Game of Thrones – who said winter was over?
HBO’s epic fantasy series Game of Thrones, created by David Benioff and D.B.Weiss, is among the most popular TV series and is gaining followers as we speak. The show is an adaptation of the well-known novels by George R.R. Martin and is named after the first book of the series – A Game of Thrones. In order to make it more realistic, the series are filmed mainly on location in Northern Ireland, Iceland, Croatia and Morocco.
Though being criticized of its nudity, the series are referred to by many critics as the most popular and successful of the fantasy genre. The numerous awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Television Series – Drama and Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Drama Series, speak for themselves.
And with the second season coming out on Blue-ray, DVD and Digital Download, Glasgow Film Festival is proud to announce today’s special screening of season two’s episode Blackwater.
