Hot spot: James McAvoy
This week’s celebrity on the hot chair is the Scottish actor James McAvoy. He made is debut with the role of Robbie Turner in Atonement (2007), for which he won the Empire Award for Best Actor and the London Film Critics Circle Award for British Actor of the Year. But many of you may remember him from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), where he played Mr Tumnus.
James McAvoy stars in The Last King of Scotland (2006), Wanted (2008), where he plays with Angelina Jolie, and X-Men: First Class (2011), where he plays young professor Charles Xavier.
You can watch him as Max Lewinsky tomorrow, 24th February, in Eran Creevy’s film Welcome to the Punch, which tells the story of a notorious criminal, returning to London, where he is expected by an ambitious detective.
The screening of the film is part of the Glasgow Film Festival and director Eran Creevy, along with actor Peter Mullan will introduce it and answer your questions afterwards. Don’t miss it!
